Week 8 Vocabulary: speed graphic camera, contax camera, polaroid spectra

speed graphic camera: produces by Graflex in Rochester, New York, the speed graphic camera is commonly called the most famous press camera. 

contax camera: Contax was a camera brand, started in 1932, noted for its technical innovation and wide range of Zeiss lenses, known for their high optical quality. 

polaroid spectra: the instant camera that generates film image, the most popular types of self-developing film being formerly made by Polaroid Corporation.

Week 17 Vocabulary: Bang Bang Club, VII Photo Agency, Photorealism

Bang Bang Club: a label primarily associated with four photographers (Kevin Carter, Greg Marinovich, Ken Oosterbroek, and Joao Silva) active with the townships of South Africa, during the transition from the apartheid system to government based universal suffrage.

VII Photo Agency: derives its name from the number of founding photojournalists who, in September 2001, found this collectively owned agency

Photorealism: a genre that encompasses painting, drawing, and other graphic mediums, in which an artist studies a photograph and then attempts to reproduce the image as realistically as possible in another medium
